As Managing Director of Climate Action & Design Excellence with The American Institute of Architects, Kathleen Lane, AIA, LEED, CAE, advances AIAâs strategic priority for climate action through knowledge and practice resources and tools to transform the profession to achieve a zero carbon, equitable, resilient, and healthy built environment.
Previously, Lane served as Executive Director of AIA Baltimore, one of the largest local components of AIA, where she worked to develop the Baltimore Center for Architecture and Design. Prior to that, she was Director of Knowledge Communities for 10 areas of specialized practice at AIA, including the Committee on the Environment, Building Performance Committee, and Committee on Design.
Lane is a licensed architect and has worked in architectural practice and as an educator in Washington, DC, where she co-led student design-build teams with global award-winning projects.
