There are “three pillars of disaster resilience,” according to Daniel Kaniewski, Managing Director with Marsh McLennan and former Deputy Administrator for Resilience with the Federal Emergency Management Agency.

These are priorities for the nation. In this session, Kaniewski will highlight innovative programs that support disaster resilience and propose incentives to further drive resilience investments.

The session includes specific examples of the three pillars of disaster resilience. Attendees will also come away with an understanding about how addressing climate change and building resilience are interrelated, how innovative government and private sector programs that aim to build resilience, and how incentivizing resilience among governments and private sector stakeholders can enhance resilience.
