
Rallis Kourkoulis, PhD, M.ASCE is the co-founder and managing partner of Grid Engineers, with several years of experience as a consultant in numerous multi-hazard risk assessment/mitigation and strategic resilience-building infrastructure projects for MDBs and DFIs, government officials and agencies, financial institutions, insurance and reinsurance firms, operators, concessionaires, consultants and contractors in the USA, Europe, Africa, and Asia. He has a deep knowledge of infrastructure behavior and on risk-transfer/insurance schemes for risk reduction, financial investments optimization, and tech-enabled resilience solutions. Dr Kourkoulis has led numerous research projects, including the production for the World Bank of its Technical Guidance Note for Disaster and Climate Resilient Transport, and Roadmap for Private Sector Participation in Transport Resilience. He has co-authored over 100 peer-reviewed papers and is Lead Organizer of ICONHIC - a major global event bringing under one roof stakeholders active in infrastructure resilience.
