Raj Setty, P.E., CxA, LEED AP, serves as President and Principal of Setty & Associates International (SETTY), a D.C.-based engineering firm specializing in providing mechanical, electrical, and plumbing engineering design services for high-performing buildings.
Since starting SETTY in 2002, Setty has grown the company from a fledgling organization of five employees into a thriving firm with offices in D.C., Baltimore, Atlanta, Virginia, New York, Pennsylvania, California, Florida, and India.
Today, SETTY employs more than 150 highly-trained engineers, architects, and CAD designers and maintains a diverse client base of between 150 and 200 active clients with over 30 different universities and 25 school districts. Projects range from a new $1B state-of-the-art ferry terminal to campus dormitory buildings to formulating COVID-19 renovations for a large Federal Agency.
Setty serves on the ASHRAE Epidemic Task Force on the Schools team, which was established to respond to the COVID-19 pandemic and provide guidance on ensuring that buildings are prepared for future epidemics. The task force has provided the official Design Guidance for Education Facilities: Prioritizing for Advanced Indoor Air Quality â a guidance that has been adopted by the EPA, White House, and CDC. Setty is a 1992 graduate of UC Davis (B.S. Mechanical Engineering).
