Farid Pour, PhD, is a building science expert, architectural designer, and advocate for performance-based design. With over 14 years of experience, Pour serves as Assistant Vice President, Building Enclosures with WSP. Previously, he served as the Department Head of Building Enclosures with WSP Chicago, following a tenure at HOK Chicago. Pour's research and professional practice have centered on design computation, parametric form generation, and parametric performance optimization. His academic background includes a doctoral degree in architecture from the Illinois Institute of Technology, where he focused on integrating performance simulation and parametric design into building skin design processes for tall buildings. His expertise spans various performance simulation analyses, including computational fluid dynamic simulation, solar/daylight analysis, energy modeling, and thermal and hygrothermal studies.
